Jake’s laptop doesn’t see so much use (mine being the one that is perpetually on and open on our bed as close to the Internet wall as possible), and as a result, delving into its intricate filing system can be like stepping back in time. Was there life before Jake met me? Turns out, yes. Did cat-related events occur before I started this cat blog?
EVEN BIGGER YES.
I couldn’t believe the treasures we ran into the other day, and frankly I’m offended that Past-Jake didn’t forsee a time when he would take up with THIS GIRL>>
and would subsequently begin the life of a brow-beaten cat husband. (Like a stage-mom but sadder.)
Here is part one of a two part series. Special guest narration provided by Jake.
More about Tsi-Shi
Because Tsi-Shi is undeniably handsome and a professional starer, he’s obviously been talked about at great length before. Here are some photos of him from before we had the pleasure of meeting, but because Jake’s memory works like a gum in a blender, I’m not sure precisely when these were taken. A good clue is the inclusion of the dome proto-types. (For those of you who may not know, when Jake and I met he had just started living in this and because I was so taken with both beards and sustainable architecture, it wasn’t long before I was snuggled in there as well, donning my tiger-print long johns and hiding under Tyvek when the roof cap blew off.)
“The cat sleeps on the cushion,” Jake says. “That is where the cat likes to sleep.”
Jake notes that this is a “scale model of the dome before it was built to test covers and things on… 1/4 scale if you’re interested.”
“I thought it would be funny to put it over the CAT ON THE CUSHION!”
And so he did.
“That’s the whole story.”
(I wish Tsi-Shi had lived in the real thing>>)
Also, there are many adorable pictures of Tsi-Shi and zee cat mug, as one might suspect.
When asked about how this incredible situation came to be, Jake replied, “I think I just put it down there and the cat came. Double cat.”
