Today’s Giveaway.

Last week, our dear friend Nancy of Mount Union fame let me know that there was a cat available, a cat that had been politely harassing her spunky dog, Milton. Milton was so excited by the appearance of this sultry fellow, that he threw himself against the backyard fence repeatedly, damaging his claw. This injury resulted in an operation in which Milton was put under doggie anesthesia at the vet’s office and Nancy decided that something probably had to be done with this kitty.

She ran ads in the paper, to no avail. She asked if I was interested, which just resulted in some tears of pleading on my part, some stern-but-gentle-no-words on Jake’s part, and the general conclusion that we are not cat-ready right now.

This cat is headed to the Huntingdon Humane Society on the 17th.

We are watching him for one week.

He is so cute and wonderful! I am not allowed to name him, by Jake’s decree, but Nancy had been calling him Mr. Black. A neighbor of hers claims that his name is Magic and he will answer to it. (He doesn’t.) Partystina has been calling him Scoots. I am going by “Oh Hay There Little Baby Cat”. Strictly to code.

Here are some pictures that should make you want to call me right away and adopt this kitty. He is very sweet and needs a good home.

I think you know well that “Little Baby Cat” is a formal cat name, and thus goes against Jake’s no-name rule. But, it’s okay – I won’t tell.

Also, I want to take this Baby Cat II so badly! But, I think Baby Cat I would be furious if he had to compete for affection, and I’m not sure Roger and I could handle him on our own. I wish we could, and hope he finds a home soon.
