Flop House

The other day, coming home from work, I noticed a blue tandem bicycle parked outside the shop, loaded down with enough gear to make me realize that there was some touring afoot. I had seen a pair of new faces earlier at Rothrock and wondered aloud to Quinn if perhaps the happy young couple were imbibing at nearby Boxer’s….that activity was certainly next on our agenda.

Then we went upstairs and aforementioned tandem bike touring couple was in our apartment!! Lucky for us (and for them, I like to think) Rae and Casey got marooned in our fair hamlet of Huntingdon and stayed on our futon-of-many travelers for two breezy nights.

Last evening, after work, we enjoyed a candle-lit dinner by the river– pasta and a lovely tomato/basil/provolone salad prepared by my two right hand bros. Parfait. Once the bugs began biting we walked back over the bridge and took our travelers to a truly beguiling local hangout….Matt’s Bar!

Perhaps you are wondering where the cats are. WELL. On the way to Matt’s we ran into this young gentleman.

exclamation point.

At Matt’s we settled into a booth and Rae commented that it was like a 1950s diner…but darker…and with liquor.

Also we ran into Brooke, who earlier in the day had emailed me THESE.

Brooke captioned this one "DuBois Cat"!

I commended her on a job well done.

We miss you, new frandz! Good luck with your awesome and exciting and totally rad adventures and please get stuck near us again, soon.

About bearicaquinn

Smallish, smushy in the sad parts, certainly destined for cat-lady-dom. Enjoys boats, bikes, black coffee, pug faces, sourdough bread, the morning when you have slept long enough, beards, mountainsides, art, rooftops, etc. Will continue to live in things that are interestingly shaped. So octopus.
