time to say goodbye

well, i was beginning to think this day just wouldn’t come. but, dear blogging public, my ancient old grey lady computer seems to have bit the proverbial dust. after over five years of dedicated and surprising service, we must all say a teary goodbye.

some stats…

the girl was well-traveled, and visited each of the 13 countries i’ve ever been to, cruising in a pillow case through 10 of those.

she moved with me 15 times.

from her crooked keyboard, i composed many a self-indulgently sad love poem or overwrought email…these stats are seriously too numerous to count. slash too embarrassing to count.

once we all got robbed and they took everything of everyone’s except all of my stuff even though they pulled the aforementioned laptop out of my backpack BECAUSE IT JUST WASN’T GOOD ENOUGH TO STEAL

two years ago i received an external hard drive for christmas and i’ve been religiously backing it up since then, turning her on every morning with awe.

today i spilled approximately three tablespoons of tea on the keyboard and that was that.

there are more stats, but i shalln’t bore you. after all, this is a cat blog. not a dead computer blog. the point is, until i buy whatever shiny pony will replace my lumpy freckled work animal, we are using the oft-overlooked laptop-de-jake [which is why there are no uppercase letters– the shift key is sort of broken.] AND MY EXQUISIVE CAT FILES DIED WITH THE WORK ANIMAL………..I WISH TO USE AN EXCLAMATION POINT HERE BUT CANNOT, JUST PLEASE KNOW THAT I MEAN TO EXCLAIM….

so. if this reaches you. please resend your submissions. i have them in email and facebook love notes, but you can’t be to careful.

in the meantime, whilst i am scrambling, i shall share this photo from suzanne– featuring yours truly with clau-clau knepp.

About bearicaquinn

Smallish, smushy in the sad parts, certainly destined for cat-lady-dom. Enjoys boats, bikes, black coffee, pug faces, sourdough bread, the morning when you have slept long enough, beards, mountainsides, art, rooftops, etc. Will continue to live in things that are interestingly shaped. So octopus.
