The Marriage of Two Loves

mail. plus cats.

mail cats.

CATS IN THE MAIL.

These are their stories.

Every year, Mormor sends out her Christmas letter which details the goings-on of all the family members. We warranted our own paragraph, which proved to be so delightful that I laughed out loud.

That’s right she does.

This is reaching back a few weeks, but I received the following postcard from Sam, the fine lady I’ve known for two decades, lovingly. When Sam and I met, we wore many more ruffles on our socks than we do currently.

As Jake said upon viewing this postcard– “She does know you.”

This kitty shall live on our bookshelf, in front of those horrible ventriloquism books Jon Knepp gave to Jake to scare me.

This can probably be double-tagged as both Mail Cats and Christmas Cats, but this delightful treasure arrived via post from our UK Cat Correspondent, Matt! I love them, and will look forward to highlighting passages from many art school photocopies about minimalism or whatever. Wunderbar!

aaaaaaand last but (certainly) not least, there arrived a letter from Suzanne, from Cincinnati.

The envelope was immediately appealing.

I ventured therein.

I was not disappointed.

Suzanne writes,

…I went for a walk and came upon a store called “Confetti Cats”. It was a wildly claustrophobic place with cat paraphernalia coming out the wa-zoo. There was so much I wanted to get you! But for Jake’s sake, I used restraint and am just simply sending this card.

But that wasn’t quite all…she did send along some stickers:

and some Confetti Cats hand-outs!

(check out the website; it’s a dream!)

About bearicaquinn

Smallish, smushy in the sad parts, certainly destined for cat-lady-dom. Enjoys boats, bikes, black coffee, pug faces, sourdough bread, the morning when you have slept long enough, beards, mountainsides, art, rooftops, etc. Will continue to live in things that are interestingly shaped. So octopus.
