Big Beautiful Rain Day

There are very few days that I declare to be non-bike days. This, deliciously, is one of them. Outside, the world is a solid slab of grey, damp, foggy, rainy, cold. This is a day for reading in bed, taking the subway, walking around my various errand sites in Manhattan with my coat and my hat and my scarf etc, and thanking whomever one is supposed to thank for the passing of summer, for the newfound ability to wear seven shirts at once. Weather like this makes me savor each indoor activity with a sense of comfort, and has me cheerfully greet my ventures outdoors for their very unpleasantness. There will be Rosalind Krauss and coffee and NPR and writing a million emails on behalf of my art-boss and seeing art and buying provisions and cooking for my friends and “The Marriage Plot”. Also, it’s a special lady’s birthday today.

Curl up with some kittens.

This comic is one that that hits close to home, from a larger set called How to Pet a Kitty.

About bearicaquinn

Smallish, smushy in the sad parts, certainly destined for cat-lady-dom. Enjoys boats, bikes, black coffee, pug faces, sourdough bread, the morning when you have slept long enough, beards, mountainsides, art, rooftops, etc. Will continue to live in things that are interestingly shaped. So octopus.
