Jelly Brain

….is a term first introduced to me by the venerable Dan Bregman, our New Zealand pal, pie-maker, bartender, all around good guy. It is a name for that fuzzy morning that follows a late night, when the world seems at once in focus and out of it. (Some of my best ideas come from the jelly brain state!) I am feeling this now, having hosted three gentleman for the Bearica’s House Special of food and lodging and the offering of jammies. There is coffee, there will be eggs, and we slept late today, tired from surprise celebrating the anniversary of the birth of Mike Shea with ping-pong (pingo-pongo, pingis) and carousing and chanting MIKE-SHEA! MIKE-SHEA! MIKE-SHEA!

A good time was had by all.

Some cats for this Sunday. A good brunch to you. (So different from “getting your brunch on”, which is reprehensible.)

So, I need to go here.

A three image special, from that very special lady.

Kristin called this something like “a very nice picture of Erica and Jake” and I am inclined to agree. Here we are playing with that non-traditional beauty, V. Dubz. We also own that pictured cat palace now! The kindness of friends.

Cat in Vermont! With good friends in tow.

Who’s that girl?

About bearicaquinn

Smallish, smushy in the sad parts, certainly destined for cat-lady-dom. Enjoys boats, bikes, black coffee, pug faces, sourdough bread, the morning when you have slept long enough, beards, mountainsides, art, rooftops, etc. Will continue to live in things that are interestingly shaped. So octopus.
