All of the Things

The coffee in the treasured New Zealand mug, the handful of birds in our tree out the window, the sound of coasting traffic on the street below. Woven blanket, sheepskin, topographical map, heirloom table. Three-legged cat, two-legged companion, tiny refrigerator, the ivy in the bathroom, pale blue sky, cold spring breathing, the work I haven’t done yet.

Today is open– much to accomplish, but there is the possibility of lunch with a baby I don’t know and two of my favorite humans, and tonight a faraway friend comes to town to play a show. We are sniffly, sleepy, but there will be bike rides and attractive things to eat and hugs and sly and open smiles and later there will be sleep and tomorrow will be another day.

Here are a few more of the things.

About bearicaquinn

Smallish, smushy in the sad parts, certainly destined for cat-lady-dom. Enjoys boats, bikes, black coffee, pug faces, sourdough bread, the morning when you have slept long enough, beards, mountainsides, art, rooftops, etc. Will continue to live in things that are interestingly shaped. So octopus.
